Trivandrum – Alleppey ~ Kumarakom

Arrival at Trivandrum airport and transfer to Alleppey, the city famed as Venice of the East. Check into your houseboat for a scintillating backwater experience. Cruise at a slow pace towards Kumarakom, a typical Kerala village where time stands still and life cruises in a slow and charming pace. Overnight stay onboard the houseboat.

Kumarakom – Wagamon OR Nadukani

Breakfast. Check out at Kumarakom and drive towards Wagamon OR Nadukani (any one choice).

Wagamon 79 km. from Kumarakom is situated at an elevation of 1100 meters above sea level and is a trekker’s paradise. It is an ideal tourist destination with endless greenery of tea gardens, beautiful meadows, and valleys. Other nearby attractions include Thangal para, Kurishumala Ashram etc.

Nadukani en route to Thekkady, 70 km from Kumarakom, is situated at an elevation of 1000 ft above sea level at the foothills of Western Ghats. Breakfast. Drive to Wynad. In the afternoon, take an excursion to Pookot Lake, a natural fresh water lake bordered by evergreen forests.

Breakfast. Take a visit to the prehistoric Edakkal caves. The cave has ancient paintings, carvings and inscriptions dating back to the stone ages. Later, proceed to Soochippara waterfalls, a 3 tiered waterfall, which is an eternal natural splendor amidst the dark and deep woods. Return to the hotel.

Wynad – Calicut (100 Km; 2 ½ hrs)

Breakfast. Take a breathtakingly scenic drive along the winding mountain path to Calicut. Visit the Pazhassiraja Museum and art gallery. You can also take a visit to the Kappad beach.

Breakfast. Visit the ‘Dolphin’s point’ early in the morning, where you can watch the playful dolphins in the sea. Drive to Beypore, 11 km from Calicut a small coastal town famous for its country crafts called ‘Uru’ built by the traditional shipubuilders known as khalasis.
